DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the Triangle Undergraduate Literary Confere
 nce (TULC). This one-day conference is a space for undergraduates attendi
 ng Duke University\, UNC-Chapel Hill\, North Carolina State University (N
 C State)\, and North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to share their li
 terature-related research. The event will be held on Saturday\, February 
 21\, 2026 at Duke University. \n\nThe conference will open with a keynote
  speech by Dr. Jason Miller (Distinguished Professor of English\, NC Stat
 e University). Two sessions of student presentations will occur in Rubens
 tein 153 (Holsti-Family Assembly Room) before lunch\; after lunch\, stude
 nts and attendees will return to Holsti-Anderson and participate in a wri
 ting workshop led by Mesha Maren (Associate Professor of the Practice of 
 English\, Duke University)\, followed by one more session of student pres
 entations. The conference will conclude with a closing speech by Dr. Jacq
 ueline Kellish (Vice President for Public Engagement at the National Huma
 nities Center) around 5:00pm. A light breakfast\, as well as catered lunc
 h and dinner will be provided.\n\nWhile presentation slots are only avail
 able for undergraduates\, Graduate students\, faculty\, and community mem
 bers are welcome to attend our panels and lectures. Our goal is to expand
  student interest in literary studies and build a sense of community betw
 een undergraduate humanities scholars at Duke and other NC universities a

 ote speaker) is a Distinguished Professor and public scholar in the Depar
 tment of English at NC State University. \n\nMesha Maren is the author of
  the novels Sugar Run\, Perpetual West\, and Shae. Her short stories and 
 essays can be read in Tin House\, The Oxford American\, The Guardian\, Th
 e New York Times\, Crazyhorse\, Triquarterly\, The Southern Review\, Ecot
 one\, Sou'wester and elsewhere. \n\nJacqueline Kellish (closing speaker) 
 is the Vice President for Public Engagement at the National Humanities Ce
 nter.
