Ellendea Proffer Teasley was co-founder of Ardis Publishers (the largest publishing house dedicated to Russian literature outside of the Soviet Union) and Russian Literature Triquarterly. She is best known as the author of Mikhail Bulgakov: Life & Work and Brodsky Among Us,which has recently been published in the US and was a bestseller in Russian translation. She is a MacArthur Fellow.
