Directed by Professor Jules Odendahl-James, students in her performance studies class Medical Stories on Stage: Medicine Changed My Life have embraced adaptation as both theme and practice. Building from a semester examining the artistic form, emotional affect, and social/cultural function of illness stories, the program is comprised of 15 solo performances adapted from memoirs and graphic novels by physicians, patients, and caregivers.
