Meyda Yegenoglu is a Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies visiting Professor from University of Tampere, Finland.
This conversation series will problematize several issues that pertain to the question of state violence and ethnic minorities. It will discuss the problematic nature of apology and seeking forgiveness, and mourning;
it will examine the status of testimony and literary representation of eye-witness accounts. It will also
unravel the nature of the public secrecy and the dynamics shaping forgetfulness alongside with the discourse of colonial humanitarianism.
