Duke at Home in the World

Duke at Home in the World
Thursday, November 01, 2018
All Day

The university's first Duke at Home in the World is a month-long series of events that highlights Duke's international work. The performances, panel discussions, lectures and networking activities help facilitate conversations about issues that affect communities locally and globally. The series is organized by the Office of Global Affairs, with financial support from the von der Heyden Fellows Fund.

The events include a conversation with authors Amitav Ghosh and Roy Scranton, a panel discussion with graduate students working on global issues, a drive where anyone can quickly apply for passports with the State Department and many other activities.

All Duke schools, institutes, departments, offices and organizations are invited to submit events with global themes, such as immigration, health, entrepreneurship, art, environment and international opportunities for students. Propose your own event here by September 30: https://global.duke.edu/node/311/register-event

Sponsors: the von der Heyden Fellows Fund, established by Karl ('62) and Mary Ellen von der Heyden
