Join AGS for the Fall 2019 Dave and Kay Phillips Family International Lecture: AGS Director Peter Feaver will join Samantha Power, the former US Ambassador to the UN, in conversation to discuss her newly released memoir, "The Education of an Idealist."

Power, who began her career as a war correspondent, is currently a professor at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Law School. Her book "A Problem from Hell": America and the Age of Genocide won the Pulitzer Prize in 2003, and she has been named one of the "World's 100 Most Powerful Women" by Forbes and one of TIME's "100 Most Influential People".
Power served in all eight years of the Obama administration, first as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights on the National Security Council from 2009 to 2013, and then as US Ambassador to the UN from 2013 to 2017.
