Abstract: "In the twelve years since my Josquin book was published, the literature on Josquin has almost doubled. Interestingly not a single new document on his life has emerged, whereas they were appearing at regular six-month intervals over the previous twelve years. (Perhaps somebody is saving up a few for 2021). But the New Josquin Edition has been completed, ending up as an animal quite different from the first volumes back in 1987. Several other initiatives -- not least the Josquin Research Project at Stanford and the extraordinary expansion of IMSLP and even Youtube -- have made the terrain startlingly more wideranging and potentially fruitful."
