What Makes Me A Scientist - A Virtual Conversation with Dr Lesley Weaver
Dr Weaver is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Indiana University and her lab is interested in understanding how organs communicate to the ovary to regulate oogenesis using the fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) as a model. She received her PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Indiana University in 2014. Her graduate researched focused on understanding how the mitotic spindle is formed in the laboratory of Claire Walczak. Lesley moved to Johns Hopkins University for her postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Daniela Drummond-Barbosa where she studied how nuclear receptors in different tissues influence egg production.
