The Month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Nationally on college campuses sexual assault has affected many young women and Duke University is no exception. In this session April-Autumn will share her personal experience and how she moved from victim to survivor when no one wanted to hear her voice.
April-Autumn Jenkins has extensive experience working with non-profit agencies as well as educational organizations facilitating difficult conversations on power-based personal violence and how to implement social change. Over the past 20 years she has focused her career on the reduction and elimination of gender violence on campus and in the community. April-Autumn earned her undergraduate degree from Huston-Tillotson University and her Masters of Social Work from North Carolina State University. She currently works at the Duke University Women's Center as a Therapist.
