Duke I&E Hosts Global Mission-Led Start-Ups with Hult Prize's Ryan Riegg

Students welcome on both Oct 4 and Oct 5. Interested investors should attend on Oct 5.

Join Duke I&E as well as the Duke Hult Prize 2017 winning team mPower as we host some of the youth-led social start-ups from around the world who competed as finalists in the 2017 Global Hult Prize Competition, an annual international social entrepreneurship competition that engages student teams across the world. Most of these start-ups already have a refined business model, a strong pitch, detailed financial projections, and traction.

This event will be attended by individuals, including but not limited to Craig Hatkoff (Co-Founder of Tribeca Film Festival, Major Investor/Philanthropist) and Sheena Iyengar (expert on Practical Choice Theory). Other confirmed attendees include an Economic Advisor to the Qatari Royal Family, and several New York-based investors representing their investment firms/funds. For interested students, this is a unique opportunity to network with and receive advice from these visiting individuals.

This event will be led by Ryan Riegg, Managing Director of Aion Associates. Mr. Riegg is an attorney who has created and run multiple startups. He specializes in technology and social impact enterprises, particularly in the digital sector. Since 2015, Ryan has been highly active mentoring startups with the Hult Prize and in emerging markets.
