Black Muslim Talkspace Presents: Rashida James-Saadiya talk on Sacred Activism and Black Poetics
This workshop is an introduction to spiritual activism within the works of contemporary Black poets with a focus on Muslim women. It highlights writers who use language as a form of not only activism, but also of spiritual realignment. This poetry draws on both written and oral traditions to reflect on issues confronting this generation. James-Saadiya explores this writing as an act of resistance within the U.S. and beyond.
