Herbert L. Bernstein Lecture in Comparative Law

Professor Zhenmin Wang will deliver the 2020 Herbert L. Bernstein Lecture in Comparative Law. He joined Tsinghua University in 1995 as one of the earliest founders of the law faculty and served as the law school's dean from 2008 to 2016. In 2015 he was appointed by the Liaison Office of the Chinese Central Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to head its Legal Department. He finished his three-year term as chief legal advisor of the Office in November 2018, returned to Tsinghua University, and resumed his academic life as a leading constitutional scholar and expert on Hong Kong legal issues. He has published over 100 articles and is author of Relationship Between the Chinese Central Authorities and Regional Governments of Hong Kong and Macao: A Legal Perspective (Beijing 2002, Hong Kong 2014, English version, Springer 2019) and Constitutional Review in China (Beijing, 2004).
