Please join the Franklin Humanities Institute and the From Slavery to Freedom Lab for a conversation with architects Sir David Adjaye OBE and Zena Howard on the process of designing the groundbreaking Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. David Adjaye was the lead designer on the team; Zena Howard was the senior project manager. Their discussion will also touch on the central role played by the late lead architect Philip Freelon.

The conversation will be facilitated by Richard Powell, Professor of Art, Art History & Visual Studies at Duke University, From Slavery to Freedom Lab co-director, and member of the NMAAHC Scholarly Advisory Board.
