+DS In-Person Learning Experiences

The basic concepts of neural networks are introduced, with a focus on intuition. The simpler and widely used logistic regression model is introduced first, and from this the neural network is introduced as a generalization. Please note that this material overlaps significantly with the material in the Duke Coursera course "Introduction to Machine Learning," especially week 1 of that course. This in-person session can either provide an introduction to that material or a refreshing and clarification.

This session is part of the Duke + Data Science (+DS) program in-person learning experiences (IPLEs). To learn more, please visit https://plus.datascience.duke.edu/
