Environmental Policy Boot Camp

Nicholas Institute Policy Boot Camp - Get your environmental policy knowledge in shape
Friday, January 17, 2020
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Jackson Ewing and Jonathan Phillips

New for the 2019-20 academic year, the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions is offering Policy Boot Camps to share our team's experience directly engaging with decision makers. Duke University students will have the opportunity to learn more about environmental policy making institutions-what they are, how they work, and how to engage them-through informal discussions with Nicholas Institute professionals.

This session will explore pathways for working with foreign governments and institutions to further positive environmental policy outcomes. Jackson Ewing, senior fellow at the Nicholas Institute, will discuss working directly with environmental ministries-with stories from Singapore and China. Jonathan Phillips, director of the Duke Energy Access Project, will cover tools of U.S. economic influence abroad, focusing on development finance, foreign assistance, and export facilitation.

A reception with free pizza and drinks will immediately follow the session. Students who cannot attend in person can get more information on how to watch a live stream and submit questions in the "More Event Information" link below.
