8th Annual VIRTUAL 24-hour Name Reading Ceremony

Flyer showing past readers and details about the event this year

All Day

Please join Duke's Coalition for Preserving Memory (CPM) for our 8th annual 24-hour Name Reading Ceremony for victims of genocide and mass atrocity. Every year, this event brings over 200 faculty, staff, and students together to raise our voices up against human rights violations and remember victims/survivors of mass atrocities (including COVID-19) around the world. This year, we brought over 250 individuals together from around the world to read 5-minute videos each - and compiled these videos into a 24-hour name reading film. The virtual Ceremony will go LIVE on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSafr2cLwQcX2ce8NjvOHOw) at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, 4/19. Closing ceremony featuring Hayley Childress of The Apptivist (an app for activism) on Monday, 4/20 at 12 p.m. ET on ZOOM (contact jkj15@duke.edu for the link).
