Environmental pollutants and inflammatory bowel disease

Dr. Agrawal will present data on the role of environmental pollutants on intestinal inflammation and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and discuss the molecular epidemiology of IBD, and implications for IBD prevention.
About the speaker: Manasi Agrawal, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a gastroenterologist at the Mount Sinai Hospital, with focus in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Agrawal completed IBD fellowship at Mount Sinai and Masters in Biostatistics at Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health, New York. She is also enrolled in PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the Center for Molecular Prediction of IBD, Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Dr. Agrawal is a clinician researcher, specializing in the care of patients with IBD at the Susan and Leonard Feinstein IBD Clinical Center, Mount Sinai, New York. Her research is in molecular epidemiology, pertaining to IBD prediction and prevention, with particular focus on environmental risk factors.
