Theology Underground | The Fire Next Time: Luminations from Black Literature
Tuesday, January 21, 2025
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Rev. Racquel Gill and Dr. Scott Hicks
Theology Underground

Theology Underground is a series of guided conversations about how culture, identity, and race impact the way we live out our faith and beliefs. Held at the Mary Lou Williams Center, this year's series engages the intersections of theology and black literature. At each session, the Rev. Racquel Gill, the Chapel's minister for intercultural engagement, holds a public discussion with a theological leader and invites people attending to participate.

At this meeting, Rev. Gill speaks with Dr. Scott Hicks, professor of English, theater, and world languages at UNC Pembroke, about "Their Eyes Were Watching God: The Folk Wisdom of Zora Neale Hurston."

Free dinner provided. RSVP to racquel.gill@duke.edu.
