Brazil: Hip Hop, Faith, and Citizenship Conference

We are pleased to announce a week-long visit by a delegation of Brazilian hip hop artists and students from Wednesday, February 26-March 14. On March 3 at Smith Warehouse Bay 4 C105, they will discuss their activism & present their music at an all-day conference: "Brazil: Hip Hop, Faith, and Citizenship," cosponsored by an NCCU-Duke Bass Connections team, with a 6:30 PM Hip-Hop Show by rappers from Brazil & Athens, Georgia. In attendance from the organization Enraizados will be Dr. Dudu de Morro Agudo, Higor Cabral do Santos, Marlon Goncalves de Lima Soares (Dorgo), Luis Gustavo Oguano Baltar da Silva (Baltar), Caroline Alves do Santos (Carol), and Eduardo Silva Roxo. Panelists/Artists from Bass Connections: John French, Akshay Gokul, Mel Gurr, Travis Knoll, Lucas Lopes, and Rafael Moura. With participation by Dr. Gladys Mitchell-Walthour, NC Central University.
