David J. Shepherd is Professor in Hebrew Bible and founding director of the Trinity Centre for Biblical Studies, Trinity College Dublin. His research interests include the Hebrew Bible in its ancient context (e.g. King David, Innocent Blood, and Bloodguilt, OUP), its ancient versions (e.g. Targum and Tradition, Brill) and its reception in the visual and performing arts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries (e.g. The Bible on Silent Film, CUP and Bertolt Brecht and the David Fragments, Bloomsbury).
