Virtual Town Hall: Duke University at Climate Week NYC and COP29
Are you a Duke University alum with plans (or potential plans) to attend Climate Week NYC (September 22-29) or the UNFCCC's Conference of Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan (November 11-22)? Duke University experts will again take part in these important convenings alongside climate thought leaders and decision-makers from across the world-and we are eager to connect with other Duke community members who will be there.
The Office of Climate and Sustainability and the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability will host a virtual town hall on Monday, August 26, from 3-4 p.m. ET.
All Duke alumni-including those who are not attending Climate Week or COP29 but are interested in the conversation-are invited to join. Register to attend the webinar and get email updates on the Duke community's plans for these events. (Can't attend the webinar but want the updates? Just let us know on the registration form!)
The town hall will kick off with introductory remarks from Vice President and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability Toddi Steelman and others (including the leader of our student COP29 delegation) about Duke's plans and goals at the two events. Then we'll launch a discussion about what we can do together to enhance the impact and visibility of the Duke community's presence at these two prominent climate convenings.
We're looking forward to the conversation!
