Duke Chinese Music Ensemble: Voices Across Time (Chinese Vocal Traditions Across Centuries and Regions)

Journey through more than two thousand years of Chinese musical history with the Duke Chinese Music Ensemble.

Featuring ancient melodies, folk songs, regional traditions, opera-inspired works, and contemporary adaptations, the program explores the remarkable breadth and vitality of Chinese music. From the folk songs of Yunnan and the musical traditions of the Uyghur people to works rooted in Peking opera and classical Chinese culture, audiences will discover how music has connected people, places, and generations across time.
