From Vascular Motion to Medical Device Innovation, and a Few Tips for Entrepreneurs

Abstract: The human body is a dynamic environment, yet we often study it in a static state. For example, nearly all medical imaging is done with patients lying immobile on their backs. However, blood vessels experience pulsatile forces from heart beats, displacements from breathing, and deformations from musculoskeletal motion. This talk will focus on a few examples of blood vessels and how understanding their motions have led to improvements in medical device development and patient care. In addition, I'll share some of the top lessons I've learned as an entrepreneur.
