CDS Fall Open House
Join Duke Center for Documentary Studies (CDS) for our Fall Open House! Housed in an 1880s farmhouse, CDS has been a groundbreaking institution for documentary arts since 1989.
Meet us on the front porch to learn about our current programs and courses, including our Continuing Education offerings.
Then, step inside to experience our new exhibition, "Those We Thought We Knew: Reimagined," by artist and cultural pollinator Marie T. Cochran.
Enjoy snacks, conversation, and live music by Omar Ruiz-Lopez. All are welcome - students, faculty, staff and community members.
The first 50 visitors to our open house will receive a complimentary photobook from CDS.
More about the featured musician:
Omar Ruiz-Lopez (he/they) is a Latin-Americana artist whose music bridges old-time, Celtic, and Brazilian fiddle traditions with indie folk songwriting. A bilingual singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Omar brings classical training, emotional depth and a cross-cultural perspective to the stage - drawing inspiration from artists like Nick Drake, Bruce Molsky and Elliott Smith.
