Heralded for his "firm, flexible baritone" (New York Times) and "swaggering, rakish" stage presence (Opera News), baritone Timothy Murray has won recognition in competitions from The Sullivan Foundation, Loren L. Zachary Society, Glyndebourne Opera Cup, and the Mario Lanza competition. He is a 2022 George London Foundation award winner and was a Grand Finalist in the 2021 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Mr. Murray is currently a member of the Adler Fellowship Program at San Francisco Opera. Current season assignments include covering the title role in a new production of Don Giovanni, Stone (The Dream of the Red Chamber), Scarus in John Adam's world premiere of Antony & Cleopatra, covering the title role in Eugene Onegin, multiple covers in Dialogues des Carmélites, and Marchese d'Obigny (La traviata). Other season highlights include Schaunard (La bohème) with North Carolina Opera and his San Francisco Symphony debut as the baritone soloist in Carmina Burana.

Mr. Murray is a graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Minnesota.
