Identity & Computing Lecture Series: Overcoming Complacency and Ceding Space
When we identify where our privilege intersects with somebody else's oppression, we'll find our opportunities to make real change."― Ijeoma Oluo
This panel of K-16 educators and administrators will discuss how to leverage one's privilege (and power) to do the important work of transforming computing courses, departments, and cultures. Topics will include not only how to counteract complacency to be better advocates and co-conspirators but also challenges faced and the importance of ceding space to enact meaningful and sustainable change.
