Luis Manuel Garcia-Mispireta (University of Birmingham, UK / LMGM - Room4Resistance, Berlin) researches, writes, and teaches about popular music through an ethnographic lens. His research focuses on electronic dance music scenes, affect/feeling, queer belonging, musical activism, creative industries, and musical migration. He has written about "techno tourism" in Berlin, queerness & race/ethnicity in club cultures, and sonic tactility. His new book is entitled Together Somehow: Music, Affect, and Intimacy on the Dancefloor (Duke University Press, 2023). Cade Bourne's (PhD Candidate, Duke University / Saynt - InStereo Recordings & Ninja Skillz Music, Los Angeles) work remixes scholarship on Affect, Technology, and Sound to explore the concept of Vibe at Music Festivals, Nightclubs, and Raves. As Saynt, Cade has been a DJ, music producer, and event organizer for over two decades. He has performed at major events across the globe. He is currently working in Marketing, Distribution, and A&R for InStereo Recordings.
