Athena AI Institute Annual Showcase

The Athena AI Institute First Annual Showcase on August 18-19, 2022, at Duke University in Durham, NC.

The Athena AI Institute, primarily supported by NSF and DHS, brings together a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, statisticians, and legal scholars from Duke, MIT, NC A&T, Princeton, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, and Yale. Since its inception in October 2021, Athena has focused on developing edge computing technologies with groundbreaking AI functionality that leverages next-generation communications networks to provide previously impossible services at reasonable cost. Athena's edge computing development is driven by new approaches for networked computing system design, operation, and applications at scale, new techniques to handle the extreme heterogeneity and volume of client data generated by diverse and mobile edge client hardware, and machine learning modalities involving federated learning, edge datacenters, and distributed learning.

The Showcase, attended by the Athena leadership and PIs as well as collaborators from industry and government agencies, will include plenary technical sessions, panel discussions, poster session, and keynote speaker Giovanni De Micheli from EPFL. Pre-registration required by Aug.10th at https://sites.duke.edu/athenashowcase22/.
