Described as a "multi genre loving maverick," (San Diego Union Tribune) Curtis' second solo recital in Carnegie's Weil Recital Hall was described by the NY Times as "the gutsiest" and Pitchfork magazine wrote that "Curtis's range as a soloist is a revelation." She has appeared as a soloist at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, at the Lincoln Center, with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Venezuela, with the Knights Chamber Orchestra; given world premieres at the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York; collaborated with composer John Adams at the Library of Congress; appeared at El Festival de las Artes Eseìnias in Peru and many other festivals worldwide. After completing her Masters' at Juilliard, Curtis joined the International Contemporary Ensemble, touring worldwide for 14 years. She continues her involvement through "Perle Noire," with Julia Bullock, Peter Sellers and Tyshawn Sorey; a chamber opera titled "Meditations for Josephine Baker." Curtis is a composer, a multi instrumentalist and an improviser. She has had many composer/performer residencies around the globe including at Cornell University and Verbier festival de musique.
