Organ Recital Series: James Welch
James Welch, formerly on the music faculties of the University of California at Santa Barbara and Santa Clara University, has concertized internationally for many years. He has also performed at conventions of the American Guild of Organists and the International Congress of Organists. A reviewer in the New Haven Register wrote, "Welch is among the very best organists. He played with remarkable élan and attention to the smallest detail." Dr. Welch's numerous CDs have been recorded on a variety of organs. His recital program will feature the "Lyric Symphony" (2009) by American composer Rulon Christiansen and Louis Vierne's "Symphony No. 2," performed on the Aeolian organ.
