Many 'truths' politicians, mass media and various interest groups spread about migration are based on misguided assumptions or 'myths' rather than on facts and scientific evidence. Migration policies frequently fail to meet their objectives, or can even be counterproductive, because they are not based on a sound knowledge of the nature and causes of migration processes. In this talk, de Haas challenges the migration myths espoused by politicians, interest groups and media-both left and right-and proposes a new paradigm for migration research and policy making.

This event will be hybrid. Registration is required to join via Zoom. Light refreshments will be provided.
