DEIC Cultural Conversations

Cultural Conversations Series will explore multiple avenues by reading articles, short stories, and books along with watching documentaries, movies, and television shows in the hope of understanding the complexity of the community better. Each month's conversation will explore an essay from Clinton Smith's book, How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America. We will also discuss supplemental sources that provide current information about the essay's subject. Those who RSVP for the series will receive a copy of the book. Sessions of Cultural Conversations take place in person, with a cap of 20 participants. We encourage all to participate as their schedule permits. Contact the Pratt DEIC Office at pratt_diversity@duke.edu if you have additional questions.

This is a brown bag session, bringing lunch or a snack is encouraged.
