Copyright and AI

You are invited to join Kate Dickson, JD, Duke's own Copyright Librarian, for an overview of the current legal landscape related to AI, scholarship, and copyright. She will address questions such as: What legal challenges might scholars encounter when using AI in their research, using text or images generated by AI, or mining text and images for scholarly experimentation using AI? How does this landscape change in the commercial context? This lunchtime workshop will survey researchers' rights and obligations under existing law and highlight current litigation that could impact their work.
