This workshop will introduce XML, a powerful language for marking up documents, focusing on the encoding scheme developed by the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI). You'll learn the basics of textual markup and get hands-on practice creating digital editions from primary sources. No prior experience with XML or TEI is required. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an idea how to get started on your own digital editing project, using the sophisticated resources the TEI makes available.
