“Boys Will Be Men” Opening Reception

Join us for the opening reception for "Boys Will Be Men," a new exhibition by Bill Bamberger, a renowned photographer, CDS instructor and Duke Lecturing Fellow in Art, Art History & Visual Studies. This is the third chapter of his decades-long portrait series exploring the experiences of male-identifying students through striking photographs and recorded audio interviews.
Spanning forty years, the project began at Deerfield Academy (1984-1986) and later continued at Flint Central High (2000). Now, Bamberger brings the series to Durham School of the Arts (DSA), engaging a new generation of students as portrait subjects and project managers.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 30, 6-8 p.m.
Venue: Underground Gallery, Durham School of the Arts
Exhibition contributors:
Audio program: Theodore Hubbell
Curatorial support: Finn Grouss and Sadie McCormick
Gallery production: Vasileios Gkoulioumis-Mantzoukas, Alec Kelly, Joseph Konar and Asher Nguyen
Special thanks: Jack Watson, Dr. Lorna Tobias and Dr. Teresa Daye
