Duke Chorale: Pinehurst Concert
The Duke University Chorale is excited to present their Pinehurst concert this fall!
Directed by Allan Friedman and accompanied by Mary Hamilton,Duke Chorale is the primary choral ensemble of Duke's Department of Music. Comprising 55 singers, the Chorale performs sacred and secular music from a wide range of eras and global traditions. Annual performances include Family Weekend, a Holiday Concert in Duke Chapel, benefit concerts for local charities, and a Spring Concert with orchestra.
Their repertoire spans over 500 years, from unaccompanied works to major choral-orchestral pieces by composers like Mozart, Bach, Whitacre, and Brahms. The Chorale also sings at Duke basketball games, university events, and in community venues such as nursing homes and shelters.
Founded in 1970, the group tours each spring-domestically and abroad-and rehearses on East Campus Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Free and open to the public. All are welcome.
