Dana Zenobi and Jonathan Levin: Songs of Margaret Bonds

Join soprano Dana Zenobi (Trinity '99) and pianist Jonathan Levin for an evening of art songs and song cycles by Margaret A. Bonds, one of the most influential socially progressive voices in mid-20th-century classical music. Bonds, a Chicago-born composer and pianist, toured widely while championing underserved communities, leaving many works unpublished at her death. Thanks to recent scholarship, these treasures are now being rediscovered. Zenobi and Levin, frequent performers at the Music by Women Festival, will present regional premieres in advance of recording an album and video series of this repertoire.

Note: This is an independent production by Dana Zenobi and Jonathan Levin and is not organized or sponsored by Duke University or the Duke University Department of Music.
