Eric Pritchard and Guest Musicians: Music of Bill Robinson (A 71st Birthday Celebration Concert)

Step into a heartfelt musical celebration as Duke violinist Eric Pritchard and an ensemble of distinguished guest musicians honor the 71st birthday of North Carolina composer Bill Robinson, a beloved creative voice in the Triangle's musical landscape.

Pritchard, first violinist of Duke's Ciompi Quartet and a performer praised for his "precision, eloquence, and elegance" by critics nationwide, leads a group of Robinson's closest collaborators-friends, colleagues, and longtime admirers from around the region. The ensemble includes William Henry Curry, Music Director of the Durham Symphony as well as members of the North Carolina Symphony and faculty from North Carolina State University, forming a chamber group uniquely connected to Robinson's life and artistic journey.

The program features premiere chamber versions of three of Robinson's newest works. His music, known for its lyrical clarity, rhythmic imagination, and emotionally direct style, reflects decades of compositional refinement and community engagement.
