Chamber Music at Duke: Cialde Quartet

Chamber Music
Sunday, December 14, 2025
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a culminating celebration of music and cultural exchange as students from Meeting the World Through Chamber Music (MUS 398) present a dynamic program featuring works by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, and Ginastera. This Service-Learning course-uniquely designed with a Conservatory Exchange component-immerses Duke students in the artistry, history, and collaborative spirit of chamber music while fostering connections with the New England Conservatory (NEC) and musical partners beyond campus.

The concert showcases performances by CIALDE, the chamber ensemble formed within the course and shaped through months of intensive study, coaching, and cross-institutional collaboration. Their program spans Classical elegance, Romantic lyricism, and 20th-century rhythmic fire: Haydn's wit and clarity, Beethoven's expressive daring, Schubert's poetic intimacy, and Ginastera's electrifying modernism.

More than a final class performance, this event represents the culmination of a semester-long journey in which students have learned not only to interpret great works of the repertoire, but also to listen deeply, communicate effectively, and build ensemble trust-skills at the heart of chamber music and meaningful human connection.

Audiences are invited to experience the commitment, growth, and artistry of these young musicians as they bring to life a rich and varied program that reflects both their personal development and the collaborative ethos of MUS 398.

Free and open to the public. All are welcome.
