On Wednesday, September 29, from 3—4 p.m., the Duke School of Medicine will host a discussion and moderated Q&A with Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni, the FDA’s director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Dr. Murali Doraiswamy from the Duke Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and the Duke Clinical Research Institute’s executive director, Dr. Adrian Hernandez, will join Dr. Cavazzoni for a wide-ranging conversation centered around the past, present, and future landscape of pharmaceutical development, evaluation, safety, and regulatory science. No registration is required.

Dr. Bruce Lindsay is a senior lawyer and ecosystems program lead at Environmental Justice Australia. Since 2012, Bruce has worked in a diverse range of practice areas within environmental and natural resources law. Bruce’s work has traversed law and policy reform and litigation. Bruce has worked closely with local community organisations and NGOs in order to use the law to protect the environment, as well as seeking to improve environmental laws. Since 2015 Bruce has advised Indigenous peak bodies and Traditional Owners in relation to water rights, especially in the Murray Darling Basin. This work includes seeking to progress innovative legal and policy approaches to achieving water justice for Indigenous communities.
