DREAMING: Little Nemo Revisited

Join the students of THEATRST 350, Professor/Director/Designer Torry Bend, and award-winning NC playwright Howard Craft for this puppet theater investigation of Winsor McCay's classic comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland. Students have spent spring semester learning to build and perform with puppets as they adapted scenes from the visually groundbreaking comic. In addition, with Craft's help, they've been grappling with the issues of adapting historic material that contains the racism of the period. These workshop performances will include performance of student scenes, conversation about confronting the material, and reading from some of Craft's not-yet-completed script.
