9:30 am - 11:30 am

Pratt master's students may register for this workshop at wconline.pratt.duke.edu. This workshop is a part of the Pratt Master's Professional Development Program.

This workshop will examine the psychosocial and neurobiological mechanisms underlying the mental health and cognitive benefits of exercise. These benefits range from reduced stress reactivity, anxiety, depression and dementia to improved sleep, body image, self-perceptions, focus, and learning. Students will consider behavioral and technology strategies to help individuals sustain exercise levels. Then students will participate in a brief gym orientation and workout that is scalable to any level of exercise experience.
