Keep Exploring - Keep Being, Keep Connecting

We are at a moment in time when it is ever more important to stay connected with the communities that we are a part of and to effect change from the bottom up. To quote President Obama, "...democracy isn't about relying on some charismatic leader to make changes from on high. It is about finding hope in ourselves and creating it for others." We will discuss how we as members of the Duke community can engage with and learn from our neighbors in Durham. How can we be more active members of our communities? How can university-community partnerships be structured to be mutually beneficial? How do they help students expand their skills and develop leadership capacity? Through conversation and dialog, we will discover ways in which we can be more engaged citizens in our democracy. Led by Lalita Kaligotla & Syretta Hill.
