Government Relations Informational Session

Doug Heron, JD is Associate VP of Duke State Relations. He is Duke's registered lobbyist in North Carolina and which is responsible for representing the legislative, regulatory and policy interests of Duke University, Duke Health and Duke LifePoint to elected and appointed officials throughout North Carolina.

Brian Lee, MPA is responsible for the government relations office's overall administrative management.

Catherine Liao, MSPH is Associate VP of Duke Health Government Relations. She works to strengthen Duke's identity and reputation on biomedical research, education, training, and service.

Katie Lipe, BS is Assistant Director of Duke State Relations. Prior to coming to Duke she worked as a Legislative Assistant at the North Carolina General Assembly for a Senior House Appropriations Chairman.

Julie Rose, BA is the Director of Duke Health and Government Relations. She manages a diverse set of health policy issues with an emphasis on biomedical research funding, public health programs, and health workforce.

James Tucker, JD is the Director of Duke Government Relations. He manages a broad portfolio of health policy issues with an emphasis on Veterans and Department of Defense health programs and initiatives.
