The Road to Recovery: Getting Involved with Humanitarian Relief Efforts in Gaza, Israel, and the West Bank

Please join the Provost's Initiative on the Middle East for a conversation with Dr. David Hasan, Professor of Neurosurgery in the Duke University School of Medicine, who has witnessed the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza firsthand. Twice in the last four months, he has traveled to the war-torn enclave to offer practical assistance to a medical system pushed beyond the point of collapse. In sharing his experiences, Dr. Hasan seeks to encourage members of the Duke community to find creative ways to use their own skills and resources to address the war's appalling human toll in Gaza, in Israel, and in the West Bank. Duke Divinity School Professor Ross Wagner, Director of Graduate Studies for the Graduate Program in Religion, will moderate the conversation.
