offCenter

Each year as part of its offCenter series, the Center visits the Raleigh showing of UniverSoul Circus. In order to enrich the cultural side of students' academic careers and to provide an opportunity offcampus for students to enjoy, the Center travels to the site to delight in the festivities and the richness of the history of the Circus and observe how it has evolved into the show it is today."In 1994 the UniverSoul Circus was born. The vision was to explore the various talents other than singing and dancing that black performers had to offer. [They] had the idea to present something different, to create a show that presented a wide demographic of spectators. To reach deep into our culture and search for what talent and skills lie asleep in the black entertainment experience..." Event is open to Duke graduate and undergraduate students.
