The NMC Horizon Report: 2014 Higher Education Edition is the eleventh in the annual higher education series of reports produced by the New Media Consortium in collaboration with the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative. The Horizon Project is an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on learning, teaching, and creative inquiry in education. Six key trends, six significant challenges, and six emerging technologies are identified across three adoption horizons over the next one to five years, giving campus leaders and practitioners a valuable guide for strategic technology planning. The goal is to create a community through: meeting face-to-face with other people who are interested in Media Arts + Sciences, sharing ideas / methods / resources, learning about the projects we're all working on, and socializing and getting to know each other better. Our featured speaker will give a short review of their project(s) to give us a taste of what they're thinking about and engage everyone in a discussion on the topic. All those interested in Media Arts + Sciences at Duke are welcome! Drinks and light snacks will be provided.
