The Geriatric Grand Challenge Institute (GGCI) Advanced Curriculum in Dementia Care aims to help health care professionals deepen their knowledge and skills regarding family-centered, team-based dementia care. Participants develop in-depth knowledge of the levels of cognitive function seen across the various stages of illness, learn practical dementia care approaches tailored to the patients' current cognitive level, develop greater mastery of active learning approaches to teach others evidence-based care techniques, and enhance their ability to work within an interprofessional team to implement care innovations through the exploration of interprofessional competencies. The Advanced Curriculum is a four-day series with two optional workshops. Day 1 and Day 2 will be held in November 2014 at Hyatt Place Hotel Southpoint in Durham, NC; Day 3 and Day 4 will be held in February 2015.
