VFF: Can't we just make a Venn diagram?
Webcast: Link
When I'm teaching effective visualization principles, one of the most instructive processes is critiquing published visualizations and reviewing reworks posted by professionals. What is often hidden from us, though, is the progression of an individual visualization throughout the design process, from data through rough drafts to final product. In this talk I'll walk through an example from one of my recent consults and show how feedback from multiple colleagues and collaborators led to great improvements beyond our initial ideas.
Note: the previous talk scheduled for this date, "Creating text networks in R with textnets," has been canceled. The above talk will replace that talk.
