Eastern North Carolina's rich array of native oaks is second only to those of Mexico. Dr. Paul Manos, Jack H. Neely Professor of Biology at Duke University, will explain the biology of these native stalwarts, how to identify and distinguish them, and how they interact with other species in Duke Gardens and native plant communities. You'll also work with dissecting scopes and learn about current research. Preregistration required. Fee includes all materials and lunch: $135; $108 for Gardens members. ISA CEU credits available for Certified Arborist, BCMA-Management, BCMA-Science. NCBOLA has approved 5 CEU credits.
